Project Overview
Part I: Research
Now that you've picked an artist (appropriate for school), complete some research into
  • Artist's life and background
  • Analysis of artistic style and works (e.g., use of lines/colours/shape/value)
  • Personal interpretation and significance (e.g., what do you think of, what do you feel, what do you like or dislike?)
  • Use the research template provided on the Google Classroom (click here to see what it looks like)
Part II: Book Creator
You will create a multi-page digital book where each "page" focuses on an aspect of their research. It can combine images, text, and even record their own voice reading the text. The "story" will contain the information from your research organizer
Research Resources
Citation
It is important to get used to citing where your information/research comes from. For this assignment you will be asked to hyperlink the websites you use into your research organizer.
Research Organizer
This will help you keep track of all the important information that you'll need for your artist.
Artist Categories
25 notable female artists including Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Yayoi Kusama.
Lists of African-American, Hispanic, and French artists to ensure cultural diversity.
Over 100 famous artists spanning different time periods, styles, and mediums.
How to Use the Book Creator App
The Book Creator app allows you to create your own digital books easily. Your teacher has already sent you a link via Gmail.
Start by opening the app and selecting "New Book" to begin a new project. You can add text, images, and drawings to each page to customize your book. Your book is a representation of all that you have learned about your artist.
Use the toolbar to insert different elements like photos, audio, video, and shapes. Arrange your content by dragging items around the page, and use the formatting options to change fonts and colors. Don’t forget to save your work regularly!
When you finish, you can share your book as a PDF or publish it online for others to read. Explore the app’s tools to make your book creative and unique.
